PRICKLY PEAR, Red Variety
A SUPER FRUIT
There are different varieties of fig that can be divided by the colour of their pulp, the most well-known varieties being green, orange, and red.
Each variety has its specific characteristics, but it is unanimously agreed that all of them are a great source of natural antioxidants and that the consumption of the fruit or its by-products has benefits for human diet and health.
The high calcium and magnesium content distinguishes the prickly pear from other fruits.
Its vitamin C content is higher than that of fruits such as oranges, apples, pears, grapes, and bananas, and it compares to blackberries in terms of total phenol content.
The sugars (about 14º Brix) are predominantly reducing sugars – glucose followed by fructose.
Deliveries and Returns
Deliveries within mainland Portugal usually take between 2 and 5 business days. Returns are accepted under legal terms for items showing no signs of use and in their original packaging.
